Magnolia Studios' Digital THX Dubbing Stage is busy with AMS/Neve Logic 2!


FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Burbank, CA - June 6, 1996 marks the half-year anniversary of Hollywood's most impressive new THX-certified film dubbing stage. The Magnolia Studios' Dubbing Stage "A" joins an prestigious list of audio post facilities with their new "Virtual Mixing" Stage, utilizing the AMS/Neve Logic 2 all-digital dubbing console. Magnolia's "Virtual" Stage is unique in that it offers compatibility with all disciplines of post-production. Capable of projecting either 35mm film or laser-crisp video, Magnolia offers "Virtual Mixing" to its clients through the on-line use of The Synclavier Company's Synclavier and Post-Pro Digital Audio Editing Systems, as well as twenty Mag dubbers and three Mag recorders, traditional 24-track recorders (with Dolby NR), and multiple Tascam DA-88's. . These systems allow instantaneous changes to be effected during the dubbing process, saving countless hours and thousands of dollars to boot. Although Magnolia is a relatively new facility, the principals involved are experienced industry people; President Bruce Nazarian,M.P.S.E. is a four-time Golden Reel Award nominated Supervising Sound Editor and Sound Designer, having handled such chores on Turner Pictures' "Gettysburg" as well as numerous other films and Television series; Vice-President and Lead Mixer Dennis Patterson has been Lead Re-recording Mixer on a number of feature films including the innovative "Lawnmower Man", and, with Nazarian, is a Golden Reel Award-winning Re-recording Mixer. Magnolia Studios' new dubbing stage has already gained recognition and a steady stream of bookings; Walt Disney Television have recently wrapped a season of audio post on "The Disney Films" for ABC-TV network broadcast. Other projects have included: "The Whole Wide World" for Kushner-Locke Productions (in competition at Sundance), "Whiskey Down" for Propaganda Pictures, "The Dentist" for Trimark Films, and innovative multimedia and interactive projects as well.
