Magnolia Studios and DolbyFAX bring Gilbert Gottfried 'coast-to-coast'.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Burbank, CA - June 21, 1996 The Magnolia Studios DolbyFAX/EDNet system recently helped set a new editorial speed record for Walt Disney Television, and editorial client Plus Three Post. During the mixing of Walt Disney Television's recent production "Beverly Hills Family Robinson", Gilbert Gottfried was chosen to voice the part of the sidekick "Parrot". The only problem? Gottfried's schedule had him in New York City, and the production was mixing in Burbank! The solution? Gottfried's scripted lines were sent to New York, where an ADR session was booked. Immediately upon the conclusion of the ADR session, the selected takes were digitally transferred over ISDN lines to The Magnolia Studios from Howard Schwartz Recording, using both studios' DolbyFAX/EDNet systems. The transferred lines were then digitally uploaded into the ADR editing system on Magnolia's dubbing stage "A", and Plus Three Post's ADR editor immediately inserted the choice lines into the final mix. Total time lapse from the end of the New York ADR session to insertion in the Burbank mix? Less than one hour - including transmission time! Although Magnolia is a relatively new facility, the principals involved are experienced industry professionals; President Bruce Nazarian, M.P.S.E. is a four-time Golden Reel Award nominated Supervising Sound Editor and Sound Designer, having handled such chores on Turner Pictures' "Gettysburg" as well as numerous other films and Television series including Disney Televisions' comedy hit 'Dinosaurs'; Vice-President and Lead Mixer Dennis Patterson has been Lead Re-recording Mixer on a number of innovative feature films including "The Lawnmower Man", and, with Nazarian, is a Golden Reel Award-winning Re-recording Mixer. Magnolia Studios' new dubbing stage has already gained recognition and a steady stream of bookings; in addition to Walt Disney Television's "The Disney Films" for ABC-TV network broadcast, other projects have included: "The Whole Wide World" for Kushner-Locke Productions (in competition at Sundance), "Whiskey Down" for Propaganda Pictures, "The Dentist" for Trimark Films, and innovative multimedia and interactive projects as well. The Magnolia Stage has handled configurations from Television Stereo to 48-track "Virtual Reality" installations without the slightest waver.
